Water tells you everything, if you know how to read it.

Snowmass Creek begins at the edge of the snowfields — 13,000' up on the dark redrock faces of the Maroon Bells, deep in the Elk Mountains of Colorado. Up high it's all urgency: tumbling through scree, bouncing downhill, picking up volume with every hundred feet of descent.

Then the willows find it. The wildflowers take hold on the banks. The creek widens, slows, flattens out. Beavers move in and engineer their own geography — wide, still ponds that hold the sky and the peaks in perfect reflection.

Maybe you've been somewhere like it. Maybe you've felt that particular quiet — the kind that isn't empty, just unhurried.

I was there. Walking softly, I read the water and the land. And at the very tip of this necklace — where the chain ends — there is an elk hoofprint. A small, deliberate detail. As delightful to find on a piece of jewelry as it is to come across a clear track pressed into the mud alongside a mountain creek.

If you've ever stopped on a trail to crouch over a track in the mud, you know exactly what it feels like to find that hoofprint at the end of this chain.

Two types of stones, one piece, one incredible landscape: Royston Ribbon Turquoise and Sonoran Turquoise, both set in sterling silver with a handmade clasp. Wear it long or short — it moves with your mood, your neckline, your day.

One of a kind. When it's gone, it's gone.

Wear it and carry a little of that wild with you.
